What personal data we collect and why we collect it
The IHN website does not collect any personal data about visitors – it only collects data shown in the User Profile screen from registered users. Users may actively choose to share their personal information if they choose to submit an inquiry to the IHN.
- Contact forms: Personal information may be captured if users submit an IHN Guest Request Form, provide feedback and suggestions, express interest in becoming a member of the IHN, or request to use the IHN logo or request IHN endorsement. Personal information collected in this contact forms may include Name, Email Address, and Phone Number. The IHN maintains this information for our records but does not use any information submitted for marketing purposes.

Analytics
MyIHN.ca uses an internally hosted software by Independent Analytics that does not use any third party external processes or cookies. All information is gathered and stored within the website hosting service. We collect minimal information such as page views, time spent on the page and very limited location data such as Province/State and country.
For example, if someone in Ottawa, visits a blog post, clicks to the homepage, and then clicks on another post, this would be recorded as 1 visitor from Ontario, Canada and 3 views. If they come back tomorrow and view two more posts, this would be totaled as 1 visitor from Ontario, Canada and 5 views.
Who we share your data with
The IHN does not share data with any third-party providers.
How long we retain your data
The IHN maintains contact form entries for a period of six months and maintains analytics records for a period of one year.
